What a fun surprise...We were driving home from church this morning and Todd says, "I think that was a turtle in the road!" I tell him to hurry and make a U-turn and go back...He listens and we turn around... Sure enough it was a turtle. So we pick it up and Todd puts it in his floorboard (for the 1/8th of a mile home) and Ethan says, "Dad you can't do that...It is a safety hazard!!". LOL I think he was a tiny bit afraid of it at first! =)
We were quite the site... I told Ethan we had to go door to door (near where we found it) to make sure it wasn't someones' pet (believe it or not, he is pretty quick). So you should have seen us (and would have made Dad take a picture, but Bella was throwing quite a fit when she had to go inside and not follow us)... So let me set the picture for you...
One turtle in an old 10gal. fish tank, Sitting in a little red wagon, Ethan pulling the wagon, me drinking my starbucks carmel mocha LOL.... Yes we got some weird looks from the cars driving through our neighborhood!
No one claimed the turtle so I told Ethan he could keep it or keep it long enough to figure out what to do w/ it next.... =) Once we let him out back Ethan quickly warmed up to him and quickly named him LEO. We did finally head inside and since haven't been able to locate him, but we made sure there were NO holes in the gates in the fence and don't see any holes where he dug UNDER the fence...so we are hping he is just sleeping in the dirt and/or hiding really good in one of the flower bushes... Ethan isn't super attached YET, but still hoping he makes an appearance tomorrow... Maybe the sprinklers will "flush" him out of his hiding spot in the morning!

So cute!! Camden had a pet turtle named Spanky last year, but it wasn't surviving captivity too well so he "disappeared" into Gramp's yard!

The mom of one of our friends from high school found a turtle that way, and the turtle just died a couple of months ago... They had "Myrtle" almost 36 years!!
